I really don’t mind that they genderswapped and I really love Lucy Liu. What I have a problem with is that I’m assuming they only did that to add romanticism. I don’t know if it’s my fandomself speaking, but I feel like instead of the gay subtext there always seems to be, they’ve decided to just jump ship and make it hetero. If they did it for any other reason, more power to them. But I don’t think they did and that makes me sad.

Yep. If there is no romantic subtext (or text) in the CBS show, then bully for them. Lucy Liu is gorgeous, and about the only reason I’d be likely to watch it. But I don’t want her to be an excuse for extra romance.
